Can hedgehogs eat mealworms?

No hedgehogs can't eat mealworms is the simple answer.

Hedgehogs love mealworms, however, they shouldn't be fed to wild hedgehogs. This is because hedgehogs will eat live mealworms to the exclusion of all other foods. This is the equivalent of humans eating cake all day - not a balanced diet.

This can cause a hedgehog to develop a condition called metabolic bone disease, which results in it developing brittle bones. This can result in injury of death of the hedgehog.
