Your questions answered

They use suction cups. Clean the glass and the cups first, then press them firmly onto a smooth window. Check them regularly, especially in cold weather.

Use the I Love Robins® Treat Tray and Window Feeder for mealworms. The Sky Deck™ and UpClose™ can hold seed from 1 November to 30 April. The Flutter Butter® Window & Wall Feeder holds Flutter Butter®, which is suitable all year round (the RSPB recommends it as a safe summer food).

A feeder right on the glass actually lowers the risk of collisions, because birds arrive slowly and can see the glass. Window stickers such as Peregrine Silhouettes help on large panes.

Take it off the glass and wash it in hot soapy water once a week, or each time you refill it with mealworms. Rinse and dry before refitting.
