Living with Birds Seed Trays for Bird Feeders Accessory

Seed Trays for Bird Feeders

Why compromise your investment in quality birdfood? Adding a tray to your tubular feeder ensures there’s less wastage from spilled seed, while giving birds welcome extra perching space into the bargain.

Your questions answered

No. Keep the food in the feeder. The tray sits under a hanging tubular feeder to catch seed that drops from the ports and to give birds extra room to perch. Don’t use it as an open feeding platform, and tip out and clean it every time you clean the feeder. Feed seed from 1 November to 30 April.

The Ring-Pull™ Small Seed Tray, Seed Tray and Super Seed Tray fit Ring-Pull™, Ring-Pull Click™, Ring-Pull™ PRO, flo™, flo lifetime™ and Bird Lovers™ feeders. The BigEasy™ Seed Tray is made for the BigEasy™ feeder.

Most trays fix to the base of the feeder with a BaseLink™, which screws into any tubular feeder with a ½-inch thread. Some can also be used with our Garden Pole.

It’s a large tray that catches spilt seed, with a guard that stops squirrels climbing up to the feeder. It suits pole-mounted feeders.

Clean your feeders and trays once a week. Tip out old food, wash every part in hot soapy water or a bird-safe disinfectant, then rinse and let it dry before refilling. Weekly cleaning helps stop the spread of trichomonosis, a disease that passes quickly between finches at shared feeders.
