The No.5 Owl Box is suitable for Tawny owl and Jackdaw.
Birds can be encouraged to use the box if a thick layer of wood shavings or sawdust is spread over the recess in the floor.

As with Box No. 4, the front panel can be removed for inspection. Here, too, the floor should be covered by a layer of sawdust or similar material.
Suitable for: Tawny Owls, Stock Doves, Jackdaws, and in some areas, Goosanders and Goldeneyes too. For the latter two species we can supply specially adapted nest boxes and special front panels for the No. 5 to attract Goldeneyes and Goosanders.
