The wooden door is drilled with holes, giving insects access to transparent tubes inside the insulated, dark woodcrete body of the house. These tubes make perfect nest sites for all sorts of insects, from solitary bees to other flying insects. It’s not unusual for all the tubes to be occupied at once, usually by a variety of different species.
